Zhou Enlai (1898-1976), the Founding Premier of the People's Republic of China, was a great proletarian revolutionist, strategist and diplomat, and also an outstanding leader of the Party and State. He successively filled the posts of the Vice-President of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Premier of the State Council. He was internationally acknowledged as one of the most prominent great men in the 20^th century.
