Zhang Lei (1052-1112), styled Wen Qian, was a talented fruitful poet in later period of the Northern Song Dynasty. He produced many poetical works throughout his life and enjoyed equal fame with Huang Tingjian, Qin Guan (styled Shao You, a native of Gao You) and Chao Buzhi whose poems were all gained recognition by Su Shi. So later generations called them "Su-Shi's four Disciples".
