Yan Ruoqu, a famous Confucian Classics master of the initial phase of Qing Dynasty, was the first Confucian scholar who advocates real learning and start the regular practice to go in for textual research after Gu Yanwu. He was engaged in Confucian Classics and ancient geography all his life. He wrote many books during his lifetime. The most famous one “Simple Argumentation for Ancient Style Prose” containing 8 files is a banner of textual research in Qing Dynasty, which opened up the simple style of study hence forming Qianjia textual research school.
